Spring time has a special place in the heart for those that enjoy the outdoors. Spring is the start of something fresh and new in the woods. The woods have a bright green tint as trees are just starting to grow new leaves, dogwoods are blooming, birds fill the air with songs of a new season, bass are starting to bed, and the sound of gobblers in search of a mate echos through the woods. If you've never hunted wild turkeys in the spring and had an ole' gobbler strutting, spitting, drumming and gobbling in front of you, you haven't lived! There is nothing like it!

Since 1951, Westervelt's staff has created habitat and managed wild turkeys at Westervelt Lodge where we offer commercial turkey hunting. For over 50 years, our biologists have managed the habitat, managed the turkey population, and guided hunts at the lodge. Through this experience, and managing other properties throughout the Southeast, our biologists have learned the tricks of the trade and know how to maximize the value of your property for wild turkeys and enhance hunting opportunities.
